Write a report - But do it with a twist. Write a 30-40 page ebook with high quality content. Give it for free with your website’s name on it. Once the report is finished, take a small ad in the local paper, do a post office box flyer drop, send targeted direct mail, and shoot out a Media Release promoting your report. You’ll soon have some very hot prospects on your doorstep!
Classified ads - Works well because people are looking at the ads they’re interested in (the ads are categorized).
Telemarketing - If you are selling high-end products or service, you can hire a telemarketer and pay him/her only when they sell your products. Usually, they will accept such contracts. They key here is really offer something so high value that people have to be crazy not to accept it. Let your telemarketers sell the bundle and pay them if they sell.
Guest speaking – Usually chamber of commerce in your area is seeking speakers constantly. You can talk to fellow business owners and generate interests right on the spot.
Brochures - They are good but only if you have established your business. When you are starting out, they are better, more cost-effective ways to promote.
Offline Newsletters - Newsletters are great! They’re cheap and they’re easy. Use a desktop publisher with some decent paper. I can produce a great-looking newsletter for about sixty cents a copy. For some reason, people seem to attach more credibility to the printed word than theydo to an electronic message. For this reason, newsletters can help build recognition and improve perceptions of your credibility within the market, especially if your newsletter’s continued regularly, over a long period of time.
Networking - Keep your eyes and ears open. Join local business organizations or chambers of commerce. Great potentials for joint ventures.
Public Relations – Very big! It’s free if you do it yourself, and the impact can be enormous if you get your story covered on a decent TV show, radio program or newspaper feature. PR has the benefit that it doesn’t have to be particularly well-targeted if it gets to one million people in your city and doesn’t cost you anything!
When your business is profitable consider hiring a PR firm to promote your business.
Here’s some idea to attract attentions: If you’re a web design company, design a website for a non profit organization.
