Good website design practice

What makes a good website design? I’ve heard that questions many times on forums and  blogs, in office hallways and seminar halls, etc. The questions come from different professionals from vast variety of backgrounds, such as CPAs, dentists, landscapers, lawyers, and many others.

Many people are bought into a faulty assumption of the term “internet business.” Internet is not a business. Internet is a very effective marketing tools that every business should utilize. Combined with a very effective website, the internet can help grow your business multiple times. Here are the key elements of very succesful websites:

High quality products or service - You must have an answer to this question: “Why I should buy from you?” People buy products or services because of the benefits. Does your product or service save their time? money? or give them sense of security? Your product must solve their problems and answer their questions. They always look for “what’s in it for me?” benefits before they purchase from you.

Effective website is a must have tool to grow your business. It must provide informative content to targeted customers and allows them to do your “Most Wanted Response” (MWR). It is the single action you want to get from your visitors. Is it designed to encourage purchase? Or is it designed to encourage them to give name and email address? etc. Your website should load fast, very informative, extremely easy to navigate, and look good on every browser at any resolution settings.

Consistent, targeted website traffic by customers who are capable of buying your product or service. You must promote your website constantly to attract visitors. If you don’t have the time and skills, hire a company, like us, to do it for you. E-commerce websites won’t run smoothly and effectively without knowledge from individuals behind it. The website will not do the job of marketing, selling, and customer service by itself.

With is speed and communication power, the internet acts as a magnifying glass for any organization’s strengths or weaknesses.  If you sell low quality products or having poor customer service, the internet will spread the word much quicker than you think.

If used properly, however, the internet will help every company performs all business and ecommerce functions better, faster, and less expensively
